For those who ask, "Is there a God?"

Someone asked, "Someone asked me if there was a God and I did not know how to answer. What do I say?"  Here is an answer that addresses the question and why many people ask it.

Tell them yes! and He exists whether or not they believe He does.  This is how they know.  Look at the skies and earth, and how they are held together and stay on course, in spite of what man might do.  Look at the perfection of the human body, which doctors practice to discover its intricacies.  When you question if there is a God, it's often because of the horrible things you see man doing. God is far above man.  Yet, He has given each man a choice to live for Him and enjoy the peace and joy of His kingdom or to live a life opposed to Him that guarantees nothing but spiritual, emotional and, eventually, physical death.  This does not mean that those who believe will have perfect circumstances.  The Holy Bible lets us know that it will rain on the just and the unjust.  We all will face hard times.  But with God, particularly through Jesus Christ, He will show us the way forward, give us understanding and help us to overcome so we can have peace in the midst of storms and joy to replace all sorrow.

It is man that does wrong and only God can bring healing to those who open themselves to let Him in. Does God have all power? Yes. Yet, He gave the power of choice to man to determine what He will do on this earth within limits He has set. For that reason, we are not already consumed by the messes we see throughout the world. Why then do innocent people die? We all will die at one time or another: some from old age, some from disease and some from tragedy. In the Bible, there are examples of all these things that came upon those that believed. Jesus, Himself, died at the young age of 33 from the hand of murderers! He was not guilty of anything but was wrongly accused so He could be put out of commission (so they thought).

Yet, He and the Father knew it was necessary to bring about a greater end. So, though He was young, He died when He was supposed to die. The same is true with others who are innocent and die, seemingly, too soon. There is a greater purpose in it that will be seen over time. But there are things going on now that need to and can be changed. The way to change things is for those who believe to pray, seek His face, turn from wickedness (selfishness, greed, lust, judgment, etc.) and ask Him to heal our own hearts and our land. Then He can move and heal our lands (every nation of this earth) by working on our hearts. More than we will ever know, there is a God and He loves us all.
